If the foundations be destroyed,
what can the righteous do?
Psalm 11 - 3
KJV
The days are short and long hours of darkness lie ahead. Trees continue to shed their leaves covering gardens and pavements in a cloak of gold, copper and red. Nature whispers - rest until resurrection. Angry skies darken and cold winds blow rotten leaves into untidy piles.
The moral rot increases undermining and corrupting innocent minds. Sodom and Gomorrah re-visited. Sabre rattling continues. Men of war look to evoke conflict regardless of global disaster. Self appointed prophets predict the end of the world and the date and day pass by as men continue to squabble over boundaries and false gods like petulant spoilt children. Yet their actions are observed.
Psalm 10 - 11
He hath said in his heart,
God hath forgotten:
he hideth his face;
he will never see it.
KJV
Where to now for the genuine followers of Jesus Christ, sickened and saddened by the bloodshed and mayhem, watching the depressing trail of depraved and lost souls dancing on the edge of oblivion.
Psalm 12 - 1
HELP, Lord: for the godly man ceaseth;
for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
KJV
Right now we need all the encouragement we can get. Rather like the Lord's disciples it's a case of fight or flight. Some will deny, some will run and some will stay at the foot of the cross.
It's never too late to repent and turn your life around. God sees the heart and knows sincere repentance. You can't fight this world, it's on a fast track to destruction, but you can save your soul.
Jesus comes to the Mary Magdalene, those fighting injustice, the sick and weary and oppressed, you only have to ask. He will give you peace in the storm and courage to endure until His Kingdom comes and perhaps the greatest blessing:
Psalm 17 - 15
As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness:
I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
KJV
Psalm 119 - 105
THY WORD IS A LAMP UNTO MY FEET
AND A LIGHT UNTO MY PATH.
REVELATION 21
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:
for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;
and there was no more sea.
KJV
This pilgrim will be singing "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path" to the very
last breath.

Amy Grant on her album "Straight Ahead" and "Greatest Hits" sings "Thy Word" written by Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith.
It never ceases to amaze me how the Lord uses singers, writers and poets to get his message across to those who would never pick up a bible. The truck driver on the highway a harassed young mum struggling through her day blessed unknowingly by a melody that will prayerfully make them both curious enough to begin their pilgrimage to salvation.
