News Flash on my T.V. screen,
another boy dies in his teens,
he'd had enough and who would care,
the final trip, his empty stare.
His choice to follow friends and peers,
drown his sorrows, fight his fears.

Did they tell you little one,
success, achievement equals fun.
There's nothing more to life than this,
the world portrayed as endless bliss.
You couldn't hack the winning scene,
became part of the dealer's dream.

Learning from a tender age,
to demand the current rage.
Coloured box that filled your space,
childhood lost without a trace.
Manipulation of the mind,
standards of the mass defined.

She tried to help,
she came to say,
Jesus loves you, we will pray,
and as your young life ebbed away,
you left this world, forgiven.
