Wandering around my garden I noticed a strange plant had made its home in a border that for the most part was yet to bloom. I was reluctant to remove the intruder, if it had chosen my garden it was welcome. The plant continued to thrive and reach upwards it was now around three feet tall covered in closed buds. This amateur gardener had no clues as to its identity. It was only as I placed a solar light in an adjacent bed that I noticed one pure white flower heralding the beauty about to unfold. It took some time to identify this visitor, it was a simple wild harebell.
Perhaps the seed had been carried by a bird, blown on the wind. I searched the gardens on the surrounding estate in vain for a lookalike and considered myself truly blessed by the welcome bouquet of flowers that had arrived at a time when I needed something to remind me of the beauty that still exists on this precious planet and that as children of a Holy God we need to hold fast to His promise.
Amidst lies, deceit, hypocrisy and blatant arrogance, blind and deaf children of this world mutilate their bodies, craving every material possession, never satisfied, hypnotized by a different creed of self fulfilment, anything that floats your boat, worshipping their idols, whilst the filth and junk continues to pour into vulnerable innocent minds, twisting and distorting their sense of reality.
Those who proclaim biblical precepts and stand on the Word of God attract ridicule and abuse and often face torture and death.
Psalm 125
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures for ever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forever more.
The seed that chose my garden reminded me of 1 Corinthians 15 - (35 - 42) and the life - death
principle already at work throughout creation. That an infinite variety of bodies adapt to live in different environments of land, sea, air and the vastness of space. The seed must give itself up to the death process so new life can emerge in the form of fruit, grain or flower. Our resurrection bodies will be adapted for life in the spiritual realm.
WELL THANK HEAVEN FOR THAT
a much needed heavenly make over!!
